More Medallions of Permanence!
A secret council convened recently to discuss an important matter. Present were Crown-Legate Crimm, Storm-Brigadier Rand, Allur Rag-Veta, Gaor Trad, Legate Val-Tar and Colosseum's Master Davian. These esteemed seasoned warriors decided to change the rules for accessing the Trial of Combat. From here on out, any warrior who wishes to fight Adan's best will first have to prove their valor and battle mastery in the Battlegrounds.
When fighting in the Arena of Honor, Seven Bridges of Shadan or Sea Battle and proving your worth as a warrior, you will receive the Trail of Combat Quest that pits you against Crimm or Rand. Winning it will earn you the

Medallion's effect duration is 90 minutes, their lifetime - 6 hours.
Medallions can be upgraded to a higher level. To do so, prior to battling the veterans, take part in the Arena of Honor, Seven Bridges of Shadan or Sea Battles and earn the required amount of Battle Points.
After completing the Quest for level 3 reward, you will be offered to choose between two items: the
The cooldown between Trial of Combat Quests remains unchanged.
In ending, this change stinks. We need more people playing the game, not less. People need to be able to earn some money without exp and without being attacked. Let them earn the money. Let them get a bit stronger, then settle it in a battle where both sides have a chance.
Please understand, I have a level 22 toon that I did plan to get to soldier before level 23, with the use of medallions. Now I have to change that. So, I'm not speaking solely from a level 70 perspective. I will deal with the level 22 getting exp and will still have a good time playing with her.
We should just all be happy that admin didn't cancel medallion due to "technical difficulties" and force everyone to level again. They are trying to get more people in the arena and get more people spending money on gear. No Surprise there. I've always said, the best time to get experience points is when you're also getting valor. Bring on Martial Valor, and Wars!
Couldn't have put it better myself - I very much second that.
Would be very interesting also to see your feedback for this Ihit - are we blowing off steam or is there a chance to reconsider?
The point Amherst made is perfectly clear - game needs to propose a solid method of catching up with rep and money without forcing the move to upper brackets.
Well said and before we knock this down at least give it a chance to work.
1. New rules badly affect those of us who have been trying to use medallion for a) hop; b) quest completion
2. Hop was never meant to be a substitution for any other gaming fun, rather it was the source of stable gold generation for many people. The only remaining alternative is professions, but it will hardly be possible to earn as much. It will inevitably lead to less gold amount in the entire game and lower gold speed circulation, since we will have to spend more reals just to meet personal needs. If someone thinks that we will see more ppl doing hop now, please state your reasons. If someone knows better ways of earning gold…. don’t tell anyone:)))
3. Same goes to quest completion with medallion. Those of us who tried to limit exp gain working hard on well balanced characters, will be fighting battlegrounds even more seldom, trying to get ready as many quests and as many collections as possible in order to complete them when they finally get to get medallion, lets say, once a week.
4. If this update was meant to make us more active in pvps, the logic behind must be different. Just let ppl earn more (reputations, items etc.) during pvps, and less ppl will focus on hop. Bring back clan wars, refix sea battles, make vortex fire, id love to fight more!
5. If DE wanted to earn more money, this update will hardly help. Many ppl were earning gold to be able to fight pvps and prepare themselves for bigger events, where they might spend reals on upgrades and elite stuff. Now they have to spend rm just to make this game run. Many r going to have to login now and do nothing, just waiting in pvp lines, then get their medallions (fighting for at least one hour, if they r lucky) and then start making money to hardly cover the costs of the pvps they just fought. The gaming process becomes less flexible since there are very few pvps during daytime. And there is not enough time to complete pvps and do quests plus hop plus incidents in the evening. Im afraid we will see less people playing in the long run, that means less people will ever think about spending rm here.
6. In my opinion, the only ppl who gonna like this change are those who don’t care that much about reputations, quests and professions and just come here to fight a few pvps. And high lvls, of course, who got their best weapons and reps and don’t care about exp.
7. Im eager to see how the situation develops, but personally im seizing my main toon activities, will try to experiment with my alts though.
Vortex would fire if they lowered the entry requirement to 8 people I think... it would still work that way.
In short I do not support this update for personal preferences but I understand that it is here for the game and not me. now if you can fix wars, sb faction in-balancing, IW, Vortex, potion lagging (taking 3 turns instead of 2 to be used for example) and the other likely 3 dozen common mentioned issues before changing something that kindsa worked and was liked that would be awsome!
Advice to the 70's, make maximum use of the level cap before it is raised again. Make money, do pvp's or whatever else you need to work on before the level cap is removed.
It was interesting needing to have 5-6 gold ready for me to prepare to do Hours of Prosperity to buy the crafted orbs, glyphs, potions, balms, etc... mostly from other players.
This change will greatly inhibit the progress of many players here as these posts are clearly stating.
I'm baffled by how the decisions to change popular game features are quickly implemented to make those changes much less appealing, while game fixes, like Clan Wars goes unresolved. I would better understand it if the Halo's gave an unfair advantage to lower levels as compared to the higher levels, but that's not the case, in my opinion it was a way to help the gamers of all levels progress in a competitive manner. It allowed lower levels to make it past level 31 without suddenly realizing they are going to be incredibly over-matched, then quit.
If this is supposed to be a reals-only game, then make it that, if not, then listen to what the players are asking for, after all it's a good idea to give the customer what they want if the goal is to retain them.
Finally got it thanks to MV day :D
1.5hours to get it with arena going constantly and winning each battle :D and only 53k experience.... lol been better off doing hops for 1.5hrs... now I gotta do hops too when Im ready to get off :(
