Clan Wars: Discussion

Warriors! We are currently working on brand new clan wars which many of you are waiting for eagerly. We want to make these new changes so that event would be interesting and fair to everyone. Few words on how we're expecting the new clan wars to look.
Main changes from the previous format of Clan Wars:
1) All wars will start twice a week - at 21:00 on Wednesdays and 16:00 Saturdays.
2) Duration of wars reduced to 2 hours.
3) If clan wants to participate in a war Clan Leader or someone with necessary permissions needs to press button "We want to Fight" in diplomacy tab no less than 24 hours before the start.
4) Enemy is chosen automatically using several variables to make the fights as balanced as possible while avoiding putting two same clans one against each other too often. Until the start of war you do not know who you'll fight.
5) Requirements and fight mechanics in general will stay unchanged. However new events like "destroy a caravan with ammunition" that will reward extra points and consumables might be added. Contribution and Seal of Defeat removed completely.
6) If you pressed button that you want to participate in next War day you cannot cancel your participation.
7) Heroism rewards will be doubled from previous wars.
Rewards: Heroism for fights as well as bonus points for most active members in them. Sydian and clan reputation as well as some other rewards. While little bit less than winners losers will also receive both Sydian and Clan Reputation! However only winners will be rewarded with Heroism. It will all depend on your own activity!
From our point of view only few active clans were constantly participating in wars and we'd like to see that changed with new format of Clan Wars and for it to stay active even after first month of changes. We are discussing idea(-s) regards to making clans into full fledged Alliances with Alliance chats while decreasing maximum number of players that can be in clan. But we'd like to hear your feedback on this first!

PS Give bubba his button

This will be why after the 1st month of clan war euphoria, 3-4 clans will want to participate.
1) You said it will be unlikely to try to balance clan to make it more competitive. Will HF and Elitist fight twice a week every week? Opps they are alliances so they wont fight at all. Ninth is on their level before the clan war closure that lead to them lead to them being a baby crying about sea battle which lead to HF and Elitist moving way ahead of them. Why would any team want to join if they have very slim chance of competing, not even talking about winning.
2) Clan leaders have no time to negotiate the least costly way to get as much valor as possible under this format. Most people and clans don't mind spending 40G in buffs, 4G in mount scrolls etc if we can all compete and have fun. However that was not the case in old format and will not be the case in new format. If it was, players will win by having fun and GI will win by depleting peoples gold encouraging people to spend money which they will do cause they are having fun.
well if people dont get matched about the same clans all the time like stated and multiple clans (more than 2-4) will participate than yeah sometimes u will fight elitists or hf but other times u will fight other clans so thats the risk u take queueing up for it
Someone is always going to be the weakest and can't get heroism to compete and when the bottom falls out wars will stop again. Make it like 1/10 of the winners and I would fight for that 1/10 almost always.
It's really hard to win a war strategically when everyone is out for top damage instead of focusing on the clan winning a war, therefore I hope war sydian will be clan sydian. Though, I can see problems with that part of the rewards either way you do it.
And others who asked - there will be no details regarding what is taken into account due to "reasons" - you can think of few yourself. However i can tell you we're looking at everything so in new clan wars both clans that get matched would be as balanced as possible.
I always thought Crystals should of been substituted with Sydian in the old war system. Many clans would opt out of a known lossing war. This substitution would've presented new options to participate or not.
Yep and would bring more balance
Ihit,
You must give heroism reward to lossing battles in the new war system. Same with Sea Battle. Lets give it a try and see if activity level rises or will more excuses present themselves.
Too many players play with calculator instead of the love of the fight.
That is just the thing. Pick any variables and it is still heavily loaded in those two clans. Level, valor rank, heroism rank, rep ranks, etc... There really isn't variety. It is two clans with prob 75% of top "variables" players in every category. Since alliance won't let them war each other there is no "balanced as possible". It will just be whoever gets elite that month will skip war and hope for someone different the next. They will have to suffer BC spree I'm sure, which will get some players to stop playing this game or defect to sadar. Which is the system we had before. Declare to avoid elite and if you didn't just surrender. I don't see this changing. And for all other clans the same will go for HF. Yes surrender is gone. People will just sit in thier hall = surrender without seal. Take away sitting in hall people will play acts for 2 hours or just log off. There are many ways to avoid wars. No, I don't hate wars. I think they are the most fun part of game. But I enjoy the wars were it is 50/50 shot to win or lose. Where strategy has to play a role, teamwork and a bit of luck too. Not wars where it is a one sided. Even if I'm on the dominate side. Best war was our win over elite. Could've gone either way. Was a lot of fun. But due to more defecting and sydian monopoly that isn't a possibility anymore. The gap is too large now and growing. We are the second best war clan in game. But falling behind exponentially faster. Like I said before ... I appreciate the effort, but your effort is just that, a effort. Not a solution. Fix sydian and fix defecting and you might have a game worth playing again.
