Krom Tander needs no introduction - his oddities and mishaps during experiments have already become proverbial on Tartu. The Dedaire scientist is aware of his terrible absent-mindedness and is trying as hard as he can to overcome it. But not the expensive concentration potions nor spiritual disciplines and meditation could help Krom. He still starts thinking about his next invention before even finishing the previous one and that more often than not leads to unpleasant - and occasionally dangerous - consequences.
But this time Krom exceeded even himself. Another misfortune left him sitting in front of the house with a bag of ice pressed against his head. The Dedaire scientist can't remember how did yesterday's experiment go - and what it was, for that matter. The only thing that Krom knows for sure is that the intricate lock in his laboratory door won't open for some reason. Tander is counting on you to help him, and the faster the better - something in the corner of Dedaire's mind tells him that the invention locked in the lab might be very dangerous.
But that is just the beginning of a surprising story. Krom's latest disaster will lead to a race against the time, venture into the skrag-infested mines - and yet another Tander's miscalculation. Which you will have to deal with, of course.
