Okay I just got clarification from Dreidan -

The two big rules for alternate characters - don't join the same fight and don't break trade rules.

For sea battle - if you have a 2nd character you are building or have built that is strong, it is okay to join sea battle with this alternate. This does not apply to alternates that were made for the purpose of profession farming. If you feel someone has intentionally rigged a sea battle with an alternate that is not strong, feel free to report it and investigation can be done.

If you need further example - My alternate character being sent into Sea Battle - Barry Kripke. He has a belt and mount, but he was clearly not made as a fighting character as he as only green gear and a dragon that is Level 21 with only grey skellies at Level 61.

If you try to skirt the rules just because this means alternate characters are allowed in sea battle if they are built up, we will find out. All council members will eventually have the ability to investigate reports of cheating.

So, what dictates the rules for ruins and sea? Who decides who is cheating? To be honest, no lower person can hold up against the higher level players (look at ruins). So, who decides who is cheating? I have faced DW before, and barely cleared 13k damage with full upgrades. So I would ask that anyone going to enforce the rules, explain exactly what the rules are.

Based on your example, it is not clear what qualifies. So, are alts allowed to join ruins but not join the same fight as the main? Rules need to be clearly defined, or it is left to interpretation. That leads to mistrust and that leads to anger. Anger leads to the dark side.

Also, it still has not been told what you need as far as proof. Just the link to the battle? Sadly, on mobile, that is very hard to do. Also, how do you determine if they disconnected or had a server refresh as the worst possible time (and yes, that has happened to all of us).

Do Not join the SAME battleground or fight; Do Not get on the same ship; and follow all trade rules. Seems to me that I have been playing alts exactly how intended from the start. Thank you for clarifying. Any word on when mixed will be brought back?

The Council decides. There are now in full 8 of us.

Rhatmes, Palasa, autum winter, Glean, piddles, Sir Crispy, Doc Holliday and myself. All of us will take turns to investigate any reports of rigged fights. We can see all of the history. If you have a history of joining Sea Battle and doing low damage when I can see you log into a main account that clearly is excessively better, yes that is punishable. As for your example of doing little damage against another player, all council members will exercise judgment and if we ever feel unsure of a situation we discuss with all other council members. If it cannot be resolved , we defer to Dreidan and he will handle the final judgment. So it is not a situation that is to be handled lightly.

If it is a one or two time occurrence where in you refreshed out, that is different. That will show up in your character history too.

Dreidan clarified:

Alts are allowed in fights as long as they are actually alts made to fight, can perform well. A farm alt that has 81k farmer profession but no other reputations is clearly not the same as an alternate character that is fully geared. And, if people are not satisfied that all 8 of us have reviewed the information and can agree when someone has intentionally placed an alt in to rig a fight then I do not have an answer other than send a PM to Dreidan. I clarified the information with him prior to posting.

Also, sorry but there is not a timeframe for Mixed Sea Battles, but there are more islands now made available for everyone to fight for.

Is this tied to your IP (so what if i have a main on one, and another account with alts can I use those alts since they are not "tied" to my main?)

how about taking an alt out to an island and letting a friend kill it for hero rep and bc rep? How about taking a person out to an island and letting a friend kill you over and over while using resurrection glyph?

Yes. I asked Dreidan in chat this morning. All council members can confirm:

We never tried to ban alts altogether. I apologize if I somehow made you think so.

I think there're only two big rules for alts:
- you can't use both of them in the same fight,
- you can't break the standard trade rules when conducting deals between those alts

And if you have a really strong alt who can perform well in SB, of course you can use him

^ that is what he said to all of us. We are not trying to ban alts, just the ones that were clearly not made as a character to fight but being used that way to rig a fight. That is why when I originally asked him the question: is it legal to put alternates allowed in sea battle? He said: Yeah it almost always leads to rigged fights. He thought I meant an alternate that had little to no gear, made either to farm professions or for the purpose of rigging sea battles.

I have been in sea and barely cleared 10k damage against a strong zerk, and have been yelled at by people on my own team. So, who gets to decide? It was a rule no sailing on a boat with one of your alts. Is that now allowed? Are you going to look back at say the last year of sea battles?

Fight fixing (as what you are pointing to being against the rules) can be done with main toons as well. So, I ask, is it using the alt that is against the rule, or fight fixing? Seems you have some more details to work on.

you are all now starting to make decisions without letting the rest of us know clearly what you are looking for.

To report things, what are you needing from us? Links (again, this is hard from a phone). You have started to jail people, yet have given us no clue how this is being enforced. It seems like we would be seeing way more people in jail if there was clear enforcement going on.

Dreidan does. Fight link is provided (if this cannot be done because of phone, screenshot it and post in gallery photo showing time + date as well as who you believe is the alt) and one person on council will look into it, whoever is given investigation duty that week. If you are not satisfied that I or any other council member has done their job thoroughly researching it, then I am more than happy to have Dreidan personally look at it.

And if Dreidan tells me to look back to last year I will. But as of now, the one violation I got a chance to look into was within the last month. If you feel someone is violating the rules, feel free to report them. And, we cannot jail people immediately, all research takes a certain amount of time and all of us Council can only devote a certain amount everyday without infringing on our own lives and personal play time. Plus, in some cases we will need Dreidan to step in to help guide us. It doesn’t just happen in the 2 hours of on duty. We are only lucky if it takes that’s little of time. It may take days or more because as everyone knows, this is a voluntary position. Most of us have jobs and other things we have to take care of and cannot do this investigation duty every day. I devoted 4 hours this morning to Guard Duty and cannot do the same tomorrow.

There are some new things to all of us but we are attempting to keep everyone as informed as possible. If you don’t agree with the way things are being handled, you can PM Dreidan and voice all your concerns. I am only repeating what he said to us, so everybody gets the big picture. I don’t make the final decisions without his green light.
