Roaming Archipelago
Sea Conquests are currently unavailale in the mobile version. |
The Roaming Archipelago is located somewhere to the south-east from Tartu. We say 'somewhere' because each new ship that arrives in the Archipelago finds it at a different location.
The Roaming Archipelago is a dangerous place to go: Kariol cannibals, sentient six-legged Rachni, carnivorous plants Flosars and our old "friends" Torlings the northern pirates, will make you stay on your toes when visiting one of the Archipelago's islands.
All inhabitants and monsters of the Roaming Archipelago have unique combat abilities that you will have to take into account when planning your battles.
PvE combats can be joined on the side of the human player as well as on the side of the monsters.
Killing Monsters in the Roaming Archipelago may earn you Sydian; defeating Torlings or Pirates may earn you Golden Piastres; and the victory over a Kariol indigene grants you a high chance to receive Sparks of Dreams and Reason, which are required to learn new Spells.
Recurring Quests
Recurring Quests are available to warriors of level 50+ who visit the Archipelago. You can choose between the following Quest types:
• fighting monsters to earn Protector Reputation and a chance to get elements of the Protector Collections.
- • fighting other players to earn Hero of the Empire Reputation and a chance to get elements of the Hero of the Empire Collections.
Marian Sea
Traveling to the Roaming Archipelago is available to:
1. members of a Clan that has constructed a Dockyard and built at least one Ship;
2. any player who receives an invitation from a Ship's Captain. Please note that the invited player must be of at least level 4 but not higher than the Ship's captain's level. To send an invitation, locate a player, open the interaction menu and click "Invite to Ship". Should the invited player accept your invitation, he or she can then enter the Ship in the Vaalor Harbor.
Players who have the Clan permission to manage the Dockyard can demote Captains that perform badly. It can be done by selecting the respective option in the player interaction menu, summoned from the location's player list. Member of the Clan with the Ship Expert permission can call en empty Ship from the Roaming Archipelago back to the Vaalor Harbor.
All Ships that sail to the Roaming Archipelago have two important Characteristics:
• Detection which determines your ability to spot other Ships within your view range;
• Stealth which represents your ability to stay hidden from enemy sight.
When you're on your way to the Roaming Archipelago, you will be informed of nearby enemy Ships that can be attacked. Please note that you will only see the type of detected Ships, not their names.
Attack on an enemy Ship consists of two stages: Cannon Shootout and Boarding. Players earn Valor, Heroism and Sydian depending on their performance in the combat. The winner gets a handsome reward while the defeated side gets nothing and loses a great deal of Sydian in their Ship's cargo hold.
You may also encounter the northern pirates Torlings during your voyage. When you do, you can try to outrun and outmaneuver them, but in this case the duration of your voyage will increase substantially.
If you choose to fight the Torlings and defeat them, you will be allowed to continue your sail at normal speed and take the Chests belonging to the Torling captain and crew. When fighting the Captain, lucky warriors may receive "red" weapons as a special trophy : the Axe of Bloodlust (available at level 52) or the Axe of Fatal Wounds (available at level 54) that can be used by all Classes.
Dockyard Construction
Clans that gain level 3 are offered to complete the "Dockyard Construction" Quests which requires you to obtain:
1000 31500 45000 4500 300 1500
When all the required items are gathered, your Clan will be rewarded with its very own Dockyard where you can immediately start building your First Ship. More Ship types will become available later on when your Clan upgrades the Dockyard.
Please note that only players with the Ship Expert permission are allowed to build Ships and become their Captains.
When the Clan Dockyard is finished, your Clan will receive a Clan Quay with a total capacity of 28 slots to place your Ships. For instance, if you have two Corvettes that take up 10 slots each, you could additionally build up to for Schooners that only use 2 slots per Ship.
Dockyard can be upgraded to level II. To do so, you will have to obtain:
20000 | 1000 | 100 Tags from Torling Captains |
300 Respect for completing Protector and Hero of the Archipelago Quests |
A level II Dockyard increases the size of your Clan Quay by 10 slots and allows your Clan to build a new type of Ship – the Barquentine.
Ship Types
Schooner
A small Ship with good speed, which comes at the cost of a small crew (no more than 2 crew members) and small cargo hold (maximum of 10 pieces of Sydian).
Corvette
A two-masted Ship with a relatively small cargo hold but excellent speed. Requires 7 days, 1220 Copper Ore, and 2440 Beech Logs to build.
Barquentine
A vessel with the largest cargo hold which can carry huge amounts of Sydian. But the carrying capacity of a Barquentine comes at the price of a low speed.
Frigate
A military Ship designed specifically for sea battles. This Ship has an average cargo hold and average speed but it can take aboard the largest crew which gives you a significant advantage in Boardings.

Gathering Sydian
Each of the Archipelago islands contains Geysers. After you select a Geyser and hire a Worker, the Worker will begin extracting Sydian crystals.
Workers of other players can be attacked. Whenever a Worker hired by your Clan is attacked, all members of the Clan are notified about it.
If the enemy defeats your Worker, all Sydian the Worker acquired is dropped near the Geyser and can be picked up by entering the location and clicking the crystals. When a Geyser is attacked by a Wraith, the Worker's Clan is notified that a Clan has been attacked by a Wraith.
Sydian can be transferred to other players. Please note there are two restrictions that apply to actions with Sydian in the Roaming Archipelago:
1. Sydian can't be sold at the Auction;
2. Sydian can't be used to upgrade equipment.
Both limitations are lifted as soon as you return to Tartu.
Transporting Sydian
- all carried Sydian remains in possession of its carrier when the carrier enters the Ship;
- Clan Chest log is updated with information about the quantity of Sydian that each Clan member brings from the Archipelago.
Icons in Roaming Archipelago:
Sydian Extraction shows all locations were Sydian is mined; a ! icon near the extraction site signalizes that Sydian is ready for pickup; an hourglass icon means that either you or one of your Clan mates are gathering Sydian in that location.
Clan Battles for Geysers. Your Clan's current battles for extraction sites are shown as crossed sword on a red background. If the Sydian icon is green, it means that your Geyser is under attack. If, on the other hand, it is red, it means that your Clan is attacking someone's extraction site.
Other Battles for Geysers. Battles for Geysers in which your Clan isn't involved are shown as crossed swords on a gray background.
Battles in the Wandering Archipelago and Hideout
• Players under the Aura of Peacefulness and Spell of Protection can still be attacked anywhere in the Roaming Archipelago. Nobody is safe out there.
• If you die in the wandering Archipelago, you are revived in the Hideout in the location you died.
The Hideout offers you two ways to go : back to the island or to the Vaalor Harbor. You can go to the Vaalor Harbor any time if you're not carrying any Raw Sydian, in which case you will first have to move all your Raw Sydian to the Chest located in the Hideout.
The way back to the island where you died only becomes available when a certain amount of time passes after your Character's death. The further the island is from Tartu, the longer you'll have to wait. For instance, you need to wait 10 minutes to return to the Crabber Village. Going back to the Plain of Oracles, Sacrificial Bench, or the Yeller Cave requires a 15-minute wait. On all other island, you will have to wait 20 minutes.
• You can join combats in the Archipelago both on the side of other players or on the side of the monsters they fight.
Clan Reputation
Reputation is a Characteristic of a Clan which can be earned by:
• winning Boardings in battles near the Roaming Archipelago;
• winning Clan Wars (level of the defeated Clan must be at least as high as the level of your Clan);
• completing Hero of the Archipelago and Protector of the Archipelago Recurring Quests.
Acquired Clan Reputation remains the same even if players who earned it leave the Clan. When a player leaves a Clan, he loses the Clan Reputation entry in his Character profile and gets it again after joining another Clan.
Depending on the level of a Clan's Reputation, members of the Clan can spend various ores and wood to upgrade their Ships' quality from "gray" to "red" or install items that increases Characteristics of their vessels:
1. A Smoke Screen lowers your Ship's profile, making it harder for the enemy to detect you.
2. A Safe increases the amount of cargo you keep after a loss in a Boarding.
3. Powder increases damage deal to the enemy Ship in the Cannon Shootout.
Type of the fourth upgrade that can be installed on a Ship depends on the Ship's type:
• Barquentines can be fitted with an Extended Hold that increases the amount of Sydian your Ship can carry;
• Schooners and Corvettes can be upgraded with new Sails that reduce the duration of your voyages;
• effectiveness of Frigates can be improved by using the Spyglass which increases the chance of enemy detection.

Quality of the installed upgrade can't be higher than the quality of the Ship. I.e., a "green" Ship can only be upgraded with items of "green" or lower quality.
You can order a Ship upgrade from your Dockyard. Ship equipment can be purchase in the Clan Shop.
Upgrading Items
Sydian can be used to upgrade elements of "violet" Sets for levels 32-50 into "violet" items of level 52 and higher. To do so, choose an item you wish to improve, click "Upgrade", and select the second tab in the window that pops up.
Beside Sydian, you will require at the least the Rank of the Sword Master of First Blood to make the upgrades.
