The Western Graveyard that lies not far from Ardaran Lake has a long history. Many centuries ago, it was a Moon Elf burial ground. But when the merciless tyrannical senator Zack Kadmos usurped the throne of the Republic of Tartu, most Elven cemeteries were destroyed.
Human witches also considered this place special and advised others to bury their dead here. It's no wonder that the razed Elven crypts were replaced by those that belong to Humans and the Graveyard continued to grow.
But suddenly things went south. The witches changed their minds, now advising everyone against using the Graveyard, and the neighboring fisherman's village was suddenly abandoned by its inhabitants.
It is still unknown why the witches altered their opinion so drastically, but rumors started spreading around about terrible accidents happening to travelers that pass the Western Graveyard. Though these stories have been told and retold so many times already that it's hard to tell which parts of them are true and which are only embellishments of drunken tavern-goers.
