A sacred structure unearthed by prying Vaalor archaeologists in the Kalamar desert, the Ancient Temple can be reached either from the Strekade Nests by going east or from the Caldiur Lighthouse by heading inland. However, the scientists who work at the excavation site prefer to call this place by the name its creators gave it – the Chamber of Celestial Gods.
Today, nearly all historians agree that the Temple was built by a mysterious race of the Ancients that inhabited Adan thousands of years ago. For unknown reasons, the Ancients disappeared, leaving behind a legacy of majestic buildings, statues, Menhirs and artifacts.
Those eager to take a tour around this old monument should be aware that the place is not safe. Mummies, ghosts, and tarkhans roam the Temple's surroundings, and recently three varieties of a species rarely encountered in Adan, the argars, were discovered here by natural scientists.
Argars are massive, muscular quadrupeds with a large horn topping their heads, encountered predominantly in warm, sunny parts of the continent. Argars live in small groups and have only a few natural enemies, since most animals are too afraid to attack them.
Their horns are valued highly by merchants not only due to their rarity, but also because hardly anyone is brave enough to hunt argars (also known as monoceros). The thing is, a grown argar can pierce even the toughest cuirass, to say nothing of the leather armor usually worn by hunters.
