First of all to join a clan you must be of level 6 or higher, also, you can only join clans of your own faction. Upon joining any of clans game takes 1 gold tax so you will need to have at least that one gold upon joining one. Jk...if you really do wish to join a clan, become good, behave yourself, and familiarize yourself with the clan politics going on. Clans are like countries in a sense.
