Dragon's Eye System

Hello developers, one concern I have is:
It's never fun to be "stuck" at a game for 2 hours. Rather than having the Dragon Eye effects last for 2 continuous hrs and then running out I think it would be better to change this to a meter system. It would still require the purchase of the Dragon Eye's but rather than being a straight 2 hour shot it can be toggled. Obviously this could be abused by players who turn it on and off a lot in each battle so to solve that there could be a minimum 5 minutes (or whatever you deem fair) of usage once the ability to farm essences has been toggled. When the meter runs out of time they can no longer turn it on to farm essences and will need to purchase another eye to refill this gauge/meter.

This functionality would be very user friendly to college students and other casual players who can't often designate 2 hours of game play at a time to get the full money's worth out of these 60s Dragons Eyes. I know I have quit other games in the past (such as World of Warcraft) due to the fact that it took so much dedicated time to the game that I couldn't enjoy it as a casual player at times as well.

I hope you will consider this issue.

Thanks.

What about this suggestion: you buy a Dragon's Eye for the essence gathering, and it remains in effect until the player receives 100 essence items. No time limit, only essence gathering limit. They're bloody expensive, but you can buy one, use it, and not worry about it until you pick up all 100. Sound reasonable?
actually no tuna... those like me who can devote 2+ hours to a farming would be hurt most my this. Sure it will give casuals what they want but those that can spend 6+ hours on this game would loose hundreds of ess because of the limit. I can get 9 ess a battle that lasts 90 seconds. (yes, I've timed it) 18 every 3 minutes x 20 = 360 1 hour then x 2 = 720 essence max farming. That is with just a reg ess eye not including death. so with your idea I would get 200-300 per eye. (accounting 1 use is one time using a spell and they cost +200 mana to use) which in turn would be cutting my max amount I can get at a time in half at least. even lowing it to a third. Also note that this game likely gets the majority of it's real money from those that are high lvled and repeat buyers of them. who would be hurt by this idea. As for night's suggestion it is much easier to have mini-eyes that last ten minutes but are more expensive in the long run to be used. say 10s for 15 minutes.
Maybe a compromise would be to add a "minor" eye to the game. This would only last 60 minutes and would cost 60% of the normal eye.

There are plenty of times i can only play for 60 minutes and would welcome this feature - keep in mind though, the 60s is cost justified after abt 80 essence which can easily be farmed in 30 mins
zalex instead of setting it a straight defined number why not used the players lvl to ratio the amount of ess that can be recieved without time?
Silk,

I think the idea of a minor eye is a great one..it would be nice to have the option of gathering ess for less than two hrs without feeling like I am wasting an eye.
