You can have the story like this... During the great war the wine farmer Paty remained neutral. Which it was agreed he would sell to both sides by both sides. But one day a battle was waged near his vineyard and one of his fields caught a flame from it and one of his two warehouses where he kept his wine burnt as well before the flames were put out. Neither side was willing to pay for the damages so he sent runners to every supplier of 'hearty' drinks and for one month no drink was sold to any. At first it was the common soldier that was forced to go without. But after three weeks not a drop was available for any. Then Paty got the damages paid for and to end the prohibition and make up for the anger he gave free drink out to all for one day. To this day the tradition of free drinks on that day each year is carried out on that vineyard and it has spread to every other supplier of drinks.
