I see all of your suggestions as a very valid point. How about a custom chatroom system that allows players to create custom chatrooms to chat in? A feature such as this would open new possibilities:

-Glomp Chat
-Werewolf slobbering licking Chat (or WSL Chat for short)
-Clan Chats (Ex. Knights of Ni Main/Bonecrushing/Elite Chat)
-Roleplaying Chat
-Roleplaying (as your dragon) Chat
-Roleplaying (WITH your dragon) Chat
-Taco Chat
-Nyan Cat Chat
- Chat

Just THINK of the possibilities!

maybe just a customizable semi-private (maybe by invite) chat tab ... so that people who want to engage in these 'other' sorts of conversations can if they choose to.

also a help chat tab option would be a good addition.
