There could be a function in AH where you can offer one or more item(s) for trade, say you needed a Guardian Shield, and you had a Short Sword of Golden Eagle, you could offer the GE sword for trade, a separate screen where you can see durability/marks etc would also be good.

I don't think it would be too complicated... if you just wanted one item it wouldn't be too difficult and pretty much exactly like the GTS in [CENSORED] where you can leave a small creature, for example one resembling an electric yellow rat, ask for something else such as an orange lizard with its tail on fire, and when somebody else sees your yellow rat they can give you their lizard for it regardless of if you are playing the game or not at that time.
