Disk Space request

What is the reason you are asking for more disk space on my computer? I can't log in, unless I answer this allow or deny question. Personally, I am not comfortable with this, having read the entire help section of this alert..

From when I used make and tinker with flash, the asking for disk space is for caching of material and information for later retrieval. On a second flash mmo I used to play, the lower the amount of disk space I allotted for a specific .swf file to use, the more "loading" time I had to wait through to load up things that I had already accessed. Granted, it was a different system than DE, but the basic idea is that allotting space is innocuous in itself

Hi Mobius_1,
Thank you for helping me
So it really has to do with basically the speed of the loading. What I read was, this could affect my audio, and microphone. If I deny it, there won't be much of a difference? I get a little antsy when a game wants more space in my computer. Would dumping the cache help?

for most things, it helps with the speed of loading by saving assets directly on your comp, rather than having to load them from a server each time you access it. Flash does allow certain interaction with mic/cameras, and that option is the typical default for the Settings option with Flash, but DE itself does not need or require (I hope) cams and mics to be enabled and accessible. If you're finding anything with flash running slow, dumping your cache usually helps, at the loss of all the information and assets saved locally. Denying to save local means that you just have to load assets everytime they are needed (every area, fight, etc.) Having a set amount of space available helps (I think the default is 100kb) so that you can save certain common assets while keeping space available.
What the help section said was, "if no reason was given by the website asking permission, contact them and ask why", then went onto the camera, mic things..All this says is "requested up to 1 mb" "currently used 100 kb". I don't know who to contact at DE, to find out why they need "to store information on my computer."I don't know who to contact here
It's cache memory used by flash when you're in-game, you can also increase allowed space usage by flash doing this - right click on your screen, press settings, click the folder icon and you can turn up the slider to increase the maximum allocated space usage for Adobe Flash.
Thank you, but why is there suddenly not enough space? if I deny now, but wanted to change it later, all I would have to do is r click? Am I the only player getting this? I really really don't want to allow this without knowing why it popped up to begin with., I was playing, logged out for a couple of minutes, and now it won't let me back in unless I answer this..
oh, I thought I should add that for the past 3-4 weeks, a pop up window (white) appears on my screen if it's been idle for more than a minute. It is in another language that I don't understand, ;looks to be Russian, with an "ok" button..or an "x" so I can close it. This is why I am so iffy with this/ I wish I could send a screenshot of it to someone. My game is just being ruined all over the place..I lost 1/2 real, by not being able to log in, stuff died, lost quests you name it. :(
As far as pop-up goes please press bug report button when you see it next time with it on screen or simply upload a screenshot in your gallery. As far as flash memory goes probably due to more stuff that was added during Christmas events took up a little bit more space is reason why it asked you to increase allocated space in flash.
