Save up beforehand, and use courage orbs. Lots of them. (Written in one minute by Lux and shall be improved later. Feel free to add.)

Yeah, that's right, cause we had, like a whole day to save up!!
But yeah, good points you have already, sarcasm aside...and game usually gives you more time.
Also, I will add that you should only open your hero caskets if you have a crap-ton and you're ready to face disappointment. They sell for a tidy sum.

I see how it's pretty hard to get hero peices, but say you have 10 caskets, and you get 1 hero pc, 8-15g, with insignias for chest to open..for more hero pc/skellies/phial/marks etc. and mana elixirs to run eyes to make even more gold..i prefer to open my caskets even if I don't get a hero peice

You stop getting them when the quest you are on finishes so if you only need 1 more to finish a level of rage you will only get them for the first fight.
