Not that I am aware of. I believe they activate when your dragon attacks.

Dragon strikes cost mana e.g using breath. Abilities activate randomly at no cost (as far as I've noticed)

All their abilities use Mana except the basic attack.

it is as hells legionnaire says. none of the abilities your dragon can be taught use mana. only the breath attack and a bite attack when you have a mask use mana. the rest are random chance activation when the dragon attacks.
