i dont think anyone has done it because it not worthwhile only 1 winner sucks especially when its about luck

I would try it but I don't think people have done. the time is bad for a good portion of players on game I believe. that combined with how many need to join to start it makes it unlikely to have happened yet.

i beleive it has started once - last week as i remember the results coming up - cant find the results in my history but it has started once to my knowledge

It has ran exactly once in the 49-50 bracket that I know about. I heard the same thing as what uptown said...only one winner & not as much valor/heroism/rep as people had hoped for. I'd still love to see it run in my bracket at least once though :)

It still is a very good return for 3 gold, given you do not have to use potions or get buffs in general and still do very good in Vortex unlike for example Sea Battles. And yes there has been at least one Vortex for group of 49-50, if i remember correctly Deathnight69 was the winner of it so you could ask him how much he received for it - if you get over 2000 points in it you get increased number of heroism for doing Vortex.

Correct only one winner takes most of the bids however there are other goodies you may receive for small return as mentioned above simply do math on how much you would spend for both potions and buffs in Sea Battle and see if it's more/less than 3 gold you have to pay for entry + chance of getting at least 37 gold or 18 reals during the weekend Vortex.

It would be a good idea to make it free for a week, or free for your 1st entry, this way people could see what its like without spending 3g for little / unknown return.
A sea battle cost me about 2g this is with a hero mount, I use a lot of stuff I craft so this helps with the costs. but for me its a good source of valor as I just entered to top group so always die now in arena, so its expensive on repair,. plus the other reps are very useful for me.

I too want to try this for 3 simple reasons. 1: to say I have. 2: heroism 3: a chance at a 25+g/13r pot
IF (and a big one) is becomes free(or even cheaper) and the purse is removed(/reduced) then I would think a few might join in this... as the closest one I have ever been in que for was 1 short and that was near when it origionally came out. now you are lucky to get 10 in que now. another thing may help is reduce the numbers that are needed to fight in it.

It would be nice if you were able to keep the items you found in it... Maybe more people would do it. If you're worried about people walking off with an Ice Guardian's Hammer or something like that, then you could always make them rarer, or make it so that only Consumables can be taken, or something similar...
