is it possible to bid on your own items in auction?

I bid on elixirs of life starting at 1 copper from 3 different lot owners, at once all the items under 1 owner were bid against me, none of the ones of the other owners were bid on, it became a bidding war until the end of auction, and yet none of the exact same items from other owners with bids of only 3-5 copper were ever bid against me.

I think it is the owner who is doing it and i wonder if anyone else has this same experience.

If so io think that this player should be blocked from auction as it seems unfair.
