You need to equip an Eye of (Name)... under the artifacts tab in the shop. The (Name) depends on which essence you are trying to collect. For instance. Eye of the Fire Dragon would be used to collect Fire essences. After you purchase the eye. Activate it in your belt. You will see an icon appear under your health bar that will indicate it has been activated. Once activated start fighting in game baddies that are your class up to 2 classes higher (just a suggestion, not a requirement). You will need to use the magic attack of a specific element to gain that essence. FOr instance. If i equipped eye of the fire dragon, I would use my fire magic as much as possible in a fight against a bot. After the correct magic is used in a fight, you will get the essences.
