your replicant is to "equalize your team", they add together all the pots in the belt, and any "buffs" you have on. When they duplicate you, or in this instance, your sister, it is just so there is not 3 on 2 , 4 on 3 , etc. Although not always perfect, it is an attempt to equalize.

As Mudacon mentioned replicant is a copy of player with increased health (due to not being able to use potions or glyphs) which joins fights incase the participants of battleground is uneven number - f.e if 5 players queue for Arena of Honor team with 2 players will be given replicant so fight wouldnt be unfair 2 versus 3.
