Why is Luck matter so much?

Everything seem to be ruled by luck, despite there is none of that attribute in this game. How much you get to attack depends almost purely on your luck and enemy's lucks. Here's how I see the attributes list...

1) You get Intuition for lucky critical attack
2) You get Will to reduce enemy's luck (aka Intuition)
3) You get Strength to prevent your enemy from reducing your luckiness (Will).

Soo~ in the end, the only attributes that aren't about Luck are HP (Vitality), MP (Wisdom) and Strength. Seem kind of an eraborate way to make the stats look more complex than how it really is to me.
