is it just me, or does it seem like mobs are doing more crit hits per battle now then they used to. just had one that crit hit me 6 or 7 times in one battle.

You have virtually no Will stat - you will take a lot of crits, especially from mobs that are zerker-oriented. Either work on heroism and get regalias or try using Witcher / Paladin jewellry to improve your Will.
