I have checked logs and i indeed do see that you did put up your item for sale for 9 silver. You could have always checked what item and price was put on in my lots section of Auction House as your item was bought only after ~40 minutes of putting it up for sale.

so being that it was sold and bought for a price that was not within the game rules , does that make this sale illegal?

As you've reported this in forums i will consider it a genuine mistake this time please be more careful when putting up your lots.
