happens all the time for me and been happening a very long time too,
i used to reboot,
but worked out if you dump all your death ess in taven or cc,
then take it all back out, the quest reappears,
just like magic

This has been happening to me, too, for probably the last two years or so. I think only when I have enough essence that the quest is highlighted blue as ready to complete right when it appears. I've observed that at the end of a fight, the quest will briefly appear on the left highlighted blue, then immediately disappear. It might do this once every 20 quests or so, it's certainly not consistently repeatable. Refreshing the browser will always bring it back.

I've missed a lot of opportunities to craft skellies due to this, but I guess I'm doing alright in rankings anyway
