Changes to Auction Rules

The following changes have been made to the Auction today:

Auction tax is now charged only after you sell the lot. In case the lot is not sold, the tax will not be applied.

• The item that you put on the Auction stays in your Backpack and continues to use a slot until it is sold. It will be displayed black-and-white in your Backpack.

Bidding for a lot now lasts for 10 hours. This period can't be changed.

Minimum starting bid is equal to the price of selling an item from your Backpack.

SeebrinVery bad idea that the item remains in backpack till sells, lots of people will be unable to move, particularly hunters.

I agree. I also think that a couple copper for tax is worth being able to continue to play for 10 hours. I refuse to buy a bigger bag, etc. This is just another money making scheme to me.
I agree that it helps stop people putting up items at high prices

and I like the idea of not having a listing fee until it sells

but as I tend to stay in one area attacking creatures in that area to gain cash/xp, I don't tend to sell anything until I want to go somewhere

meaning I currently have 40/20 items, put enough into AH to get down to 20, but with the new rule I can't move :/

also, a solution to the problem could be being selective about what you put on auction and sell the rest of your stuff straight from backpack?

p.s to people who have said about not being able to pay listing fee if it comes at the end of the auction, my advice would be include the listing fee in the price so you know you're covered :) (I've always been doing that even before this thing so I don't end up with a loss lol)

Furthermore, a flaw with the system I've just found out, getting items of the same type as ones you've put up for auction creates a new slot rather than going into the existing slot of that item
i like this update ish...... my question is has the tax percentage gone up? because it seems like it has :S
Mystical_WarriorSurturs FireWell the new rules look nice. though I must shed a silent tear at not being able to store my extra recipes on auctions. That could prove problematic for some players. 100 bag space just isn't enough for me sometimes . well I'll figure a way around it.
I agree, DE should increase the size of the tavern to 50 or more.

Maybe a 2 tier rent at tavern for storage slots would work ">
so let me get this straight instead of dealing with spam posters who take over ah (example: those that post 200 ess 1 by 1) you go an mess with everything else you admins sure are the useless bunch aren't ya ">
Alot of negative feedback seems to have disappeared...why would that be do you suppose? If nothing sells we can't move, if we fight and God forbid win something we can't use, we still can't move..I made several comments about greed, and the game making money, as did many many others...wonder where they went? lets see how fast this post gets pulled...btw, I'm not paying for any 2 tiered tavern. Like I said. All about taking players money, real, and fake. Also odd that my alt, can't post anymore. hmmmm
One more thing about this, now people can list at stupid prices to try and raise prices of everything or try and get lucky as they don't have to pay tax, how this going to affect the 30% rule. as there are 100's of items that will never sell, but it makes the 30% a lot higher now.
Profession and Crafting Collection stuff is now 7-9g, was 2-4g, so AV is now 8g 5.6g -30 %
Awesome update. Dont see why so many are complaining, It sucked worse to pay tax on high priced items that didnt sell over and over.
Terrible !!! Very bad idea, I cant see a reason???? They start killing this game ">
