Changes to Auction Rules

The following changes have been made to the Auction today:

Auction tax is now charged only after you sell the lot. In case the lot is not sold, the tax will not be applied.

• The item that you put on the Auction stays in your Backpack and continues to use a slot until it is sold. It will be displayed black-and-white in your Backpack.

Bidding for a lot now lasts for 10 hours. This period can't be changed.

Minimum starting bid is equal to the price of selling an item from your Backpack.

Well the new rules look nice. though I must shed a silent tear at not being able to store my extra recipes on auctions. That could prove problematic for some players. 100 bag space just isn't enough for me sometimes . well I'll figure a way around it.

I agree, DE should increase the size of the tavern to 50 or more.
hmmmm im sure this is all good but omg im stuck now and cant move lmao, not good
After the addition of professions it was suggested that the tavern rooms have more space. This didn't happen. Now this?!? Ugh.
Did you say no tax until l8er?!! ">"> Gr8!">">

Since the tax is taken out after what if you put something up in auction what if you don't have enough to cover tax when it sells? for example you go hit a mob, have to do repairs, and don't have enough for tax when the lot sells. Will the item still sell and the tax be deducted from the silver/gold you just got or will the lot be rendered invalid?

And if the auction can only be for 10 hours and can't be changed why did I just put up 2 things that say 12 hrs not 10?
+ on the tax after a sale

- - - - - on the items in AH are not removed from BP space

those that have gathered 10R and managed to buy a porting stone will have less problem but still this needs a bit of rethinking">">
Okay, I'm overloaded now. I put up a couple of items in AH for temporary storage, paid the tax for auction, so why is it taking a space in my backpack? If I am not getting the benefit of no space being used, I want my money for the tax back. I don't have a tavern room because it was a little bit cheaper to simply put these few items in AH, So, this will be an easy fix for me since the costs were close to the tavern rent costs over 30 days, but I want my money back or the benefit from placing the items in AH. (Cynically, I'm not holding my breath)
I do like the tax being only charged if the items sell. This is a long over-due change.
I would like to be able to go to winery crossroads to buy a tavern room though. Looks like I'll have to sell some of my stuff just to do that, maybe I can find someone to buy it from me and sell it back when I get there...Hmm.
Hmm.. well I'm currently 33/22. Looks like I won't be going anywhere for a while

that is a pretty damn good question O.O if one does not have the money to pay the tax afterwards does that mean item will not sell?
Interesting...What happened to my quest for renting a tavern room? Now that's just not right either, wow how punitive.

Roanoa_Zoro and Ironic123 I do believe that the tax will be removed from the sale price, so it won't make a difference if you have 100g or only 1 copper, the tax won't effect your sale.
Now everyone will flood AH with over priced goods, and they know if they don't sell they can just keep re-listing for free.

This is stupid. Using AH for storage's an age old technique, why remove it? At least give us more tavern space.
I was a bit surprised this happened.....as a hunter and getting 3 elements when you skin the beast means you can't move on or back to the tavern to store your goods. It would have made sense to say this was coming (if I missed it, it wasn't obvious enough) so I could have set up my inventory accordingly, or saved up and bought a teleport....now we will see less travel within the world.
What were the main reasons for doing this? as I see very little benefit, especially with a 10 hour sale window, just to see that nobody has bough and your stuck for another 10 hours.....er, me think there needs to be a rethink on this one!
only good thing was tax only after it sells. just change it back. would rather have room in bp than have to teleport everywhere. Or rent a tavern room.
i like the fact that they added shop price in auction :)
This is a great update i think, ah tax is a pain when your item doesn't sells! And that still takes space in backpack isn't that bad too, you can just buy 1k protector bags if you have or rent tavern room, wich both don't cost that much money.

Keep up the good work admins !
Ironic123,

The first question I don't got any idea, but the second I do know.
It means that you putted the item up ah right before a new hour started, for example 19:57.
Otherwise it wouldn't be fair to let you pay more because you putted 3minutes to early at ah.

I can always be wrong though, you could always ask a guardian to be sure .
Very bad idea that the item remains in backpack till sells, lots of people will be unable to move, particularly hunters.
