My observations are similar... for whatever reason, it feels like you have a much higher chance of getting this to drop if the killing blow is NOT a spell. I can't see them coding this as a feature... maybe it's just really flukey random chance?

I have acquired many of these after using magic. It's random, so you might have to kill quite a few ghost hunters to get enough
